Karen's Review Of This Property:

Sylt, a sand-dune island located in the northernmost tip of Germany, is reached by taking the car-train across the narrow causeway linking the island to the mainland—a 45-minute ride. The Benen-Diken-Hof is comprised of several squat, Friesian farmhouses joined into a complex by means of glass corridors that appear to bring the outdoors indoors. Decorated throughout in white and cream with accents of color, the hotel is light and welcoming. A soccer field at the front of the inn is evidence of the welcome the hotel extends to families. After a walk along the sand dunes in the bracing sea air, you return to the hotel to pamper yourself with a sauna and a massage or a relaxing swim. The hotel’s greatest assets are its gracious young owners Claas-Erik and Anja Johannsen who continue to offer the same friendly hospitality that Claas-Erik’s parents did. In the evening Claas-Erik can often be found hosting the hotel’s cozy bar. His warmth and graciousness transcend the language barrier and make you feel at home. The restaurant serves breakfast without a time limit so that guests can enjoy sleeping late. In the evenings a creative menu is offered in the restaurant.

Directions: Take the train from the mainland to the Island of Sylt, 160 km northwest of Hamburg. If traveling by car, drive onto the train and stay in your car for the duration of the trip. To reach Keitum travel the one road east for 4.5 km to the hotel.
