Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Romantik Hotel Jagdhaus Waldidyll is so superb that if you are anywhere in the area, make a special effort to spend at least a few nights here. This small hotel, nestled in a fairy-tale-like forest, is most appealing with its steeply pitched roof, whimsical gables, stone-and-dark-wood façade, and cheery bright-red shutters. A tiny pond, manicured lawn, and colorful flowers complete the idyllic scene. From the moment you enter, the ambiance is of a cozy, elegant hunting lodge with beamed ceiling, wood paneling, and antlers on the walls. Carved double doors open from the reception area to two romantic paneled dining rooms, where local specialties are always available. The food is delicious and splendidly presented. The bedrooms are beautiful and of excellent quality in every detail, all lovingly decorated with gorgeous fabrics and fine furnishings. I fell in love with 102, which has three large windows and a balcony overlooking the forest. The marble bathrooms are very pretty with hand-painted washbasins and matching tile trim from Portugal. This is a family operation, which makes it very special, and all guests are greeted warmly as friends. Your charming hostess, Andrea Kahl (who worked at an inn in Vermont) oversees the operation of the hotel, assisted by her mother, Hertha Sellmair.

Romantik Hotel Guide's Description:

In this charming hotel located in a fairytale woodland setting you immediately start to recover from the stresses of everyday life in the unspoilt natural surroundings of the Erzgebirge Mountains in Saxony. The hotel offers stylish furnishings as well as excellent regional dishes and haute cuisine. A region rich in history (e.g. the kidnap of the Saxon princes in 1455 and the theft of the Russian Amber Room) - 65 km of walking trails - a wellness and fitness studio - plus the hotel's own castle ruins ... all ensure a welcome break for the mind and body.
