Karen's Review Of This Property:
The façade of this charming, two-story hotel is easy to spot on a narrow cobbled street at the heart of the village. It has soft-pink washed walls, windows and doors in a dark, wide band of orange and green lanterns, and a dark roof with a row of small dormer windows. You enter into the hotel either through its cozy, intimate weinstube restaurant or its lovely interior-courtyard garden restaurant. The 32 guestrooms are found up a stairway accessed off the back courtyard. Rooms, quiet and comfortable but simply appointed, are described as having either old or new decor—“old” is a dark Danish modern with darker prints for the spreads and drapes, while “new” consists of light reproduction pine furniture with white down comforters topping the beds. We were able to see the largest (number 14) of the three new light-pine rooms—a two-room suite with a living room and separate bedroom; number 30, an older room with a double bed and a sitting area; and number 31, a room with the old decor whose twin beds stretch the length of the room and are curtained off by individual drapes. Hallway carpets and curtains are in a castle red and doors are a handsome green. The restaurant, charming in its rustic decor, is quite popular and can accommodate many daytime travelers. The cozy cellar bar is a popular place for dancing as live music is offered on weekends.
