Karen's Review Of This Property:
Twenty years ago this lovely Art Nouveau hotel was a private home. The villa was purchased by Hertha Sellmair, who also owns and operates (with her daughter, Andrea Kahl) Romantik Hotel Jagdhaus Waldidyll in Hartenstein. Hertha’s second daughter, Simone, and her husband, André Greul, who provides the culinary talent, are wonderful, welcoming hosts. The two restaurants, the Furstenzimmer and the Herzogstüberl, serve Greul’s highly acclaimed gourmet dishes as well as regional specialties. The garden gazebo offers a bountiful breakfast buffet. Guestrooms found up the Trimmnpfad (the staircase, jokingly referred to as an exercise bonus—there is no elevator) straddle the line between traditional and modern. A favorite room—#402—requires a climb to the top, but the reward is a spectacular view of the Duke’s Palace. The hotel is a ten-minute walk from the heart of the Gothic town of Landshut, home of the “Landshut wedding,” a lively medieval festival re-enacting the weeklong wedding celebration between Hedwig, the Polish King's daughter, and Georg, the son of the Duke of Landshut, in 1475.
Romantik Hotel Guide's Description:
Landshut is one of the loveliest Gothic cities in Bavaria and is widely known due to the "Princely wedding 1475". Not far from the centre lies the Romantik Hotel Fürstenhof in an old Art Nouveau villa. Enjoy André GreulŽs star-rated cuisine in the elegant "Fürstenzimmer" or in the traditional Bavarian "Herzogstüberl".
