Karen's Review Of This Property:
Just 30 kilometers from the fascinating city of Würzburg, the Zehntkeller, Romantik Hotel and wine house, is also convenient to the wine region at the foot of the Schwan Mountain. Once a tax-collection point for the church, and hence a most unpopular building, the Zehntkeller (made into a hotel in 1910) is now the chosen destination of many. Iphofen is a small, quiet village, and it is amazing to find the traffic coming and going from the inn: the specialties of the menu attract diners from outlying regions. The restaurant is actually a number of rooms on the first floor, serviced by gracious girls dressed in attractive dirndls. The 5 single and 11 double rooms housed in the main building above the restaurant, are all lovely and well-appointed with modern bathrooms. The Kelterhaus, Gartenhaus, and Hofhaus are all newly constructed buildings that are accessed off the courtyard and back onto a walled garden. Guestrooms in the newer buildings are spacious and charming—perfect for guests who want to linger for a stay of more than a few days. The four suites in the Kelterhaus are luxurious, and each has its own special luxury such as garden terrace or separate salon. The Wedding Suite is housed in a separate cottage with its own entrance.
Romantik Hotel Guide's Description:
The comfortable guest rooms have been tastefully furnished in this impressive, prince-bishop's palace. In the cosy restaurant rooms service and cuisine offer reliable high quality. The wines come from the hotel's own renowned vineyard. A Franconian Romantik Hotel that one just has to have seen.
