Karen's Review Of This Property:

Located in the historic section of Partenkirchen, the Gasthof Fraundorfer, a homey inn run by Barbara and Josef Fraundorfer and their daughters, Andrea and Barbara, has been in the Fraundorfer family since 1820. Its façade is decorated with murals and windowboxes of red geraniums, while inside a restaurant with a marvelous atmosphere awaits. Walls and ceilings covered entirely in mellow, knotty pine foster a warm, rustic feeling here, where tradition is taken seriously. One of the wooden tables in the room is a stammtisch, the exclusive territory of a specific group of regulars, where each person always sits in the same place. Photos of stammtisch regulars, some dating back 150 years, adorn the wall above the table. Home-cooked meals with German beer and wine are served in this charming dining room accompanied by accordion music and slap-dancing. Some of the guestrooms are located in Gästehaus Barbara, a remodeled house just behind the hotel, while others are in the original Gasthof. The rooms vary in size and furnishings from traditional Bavarian to whimsically modern. All rooms have private bath and some have a balcony or an additional room for children. This friendly inn is comfortable in a homey way and offers good value in the center of this popular tourist town.
