Karen's Review Of This Property:

You’re sure to fall in love with this charming hotel, and the family who embraces their guests with a welcome perfected over two hundred and sixty years. You’ll meet the friendly senior Herr Böhm, the younger Herr Böhm, handsome in his chef’s attire, and the senior Frau Böhm, who when we were introduced was gathering flowers for the restaurant before preparing their trademark apfel strudel. With a full-service restaurant, twenty-four guestrooms, and a large staff, this is a demanding business, yet it seems second nature to the Böhm family. Stretching the length of the main square of Bergen—an idyllic monastery village located inside the Altmühltal Natural Park—this pretty, salmon-colored inn fronts an unexpected complex that includes intimate dining rooms, a garden courtyard, a wonderful vaulted salon with a cozy sitting area in front of an open fire (it also serves as the morning breakfast room), and a wing of guestrooms. There are eighteen tranquil guestrooms in the main hotel and six just across the square. The attractive rooms are simply decorated, with light pine floors and furnishings; bathrooms are comfortably modern. Double-paned windows afford absolute quiet, though you might want to open them for the glorious sound of morning church bells.

Romantik Hotel Guide's Description:

The Böhm family have been delighting guests for ten generations in the idyllic monastery village of Bergen in the Altmühltal Nature Park. Fresh regional specialities are served in the cosy traditional Bavarian inn that dates back to 1565. The hotel and its rooms provide an atmosphere of rural tranquillity and a wonderful view of the monastery garden and park with cattle and horses grazing on the meadow. New: Historical malting floor with an open fire and a vaulted ceiling dating from the late Mediaeval period.
