Karen's Review Of This Property:
At the core of Staufen’s pedestrian-only district, the pretty façade of the Krone is sure to draw your attention. Its three stories are painted a pretty, soft, salmon wash and windows are hung with beige shutters and dressed with windowboxes. The front of the building is lavishly painted with a historic mural depicting the revolution of 1848. You can enter off the main street directly into the charming two-room restaurant with richly painted wainscoting, intimate seating, and pretty lace curtains with layers of country fabrics. A side entrance is also available for the convenience of hotel guests. The hotel has nine guestrooms, six of which enjoy their own private terrace. Housed within the old walls of this lovely building, guestrooms are simple yet quite modern in terms of conveniences. Furnishings are in light pine and beds are decked with fresh, plump, white duvets and large pillows. A separate room from the restaurant, found on the first floor, is a charming (non-smoking) breakfast room whose buffet is set with an assortment of mueslis, fruit juices, rolls, jams, and hot beverages. A delightful couple, the Lahns are personally involved with the hotel’s operation: Herr Lahn is the chef and Frau Lahn oversees the welcome.
