Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Hotel Weinstube Löwen, located in the heart of the pedestrian section of the fairy-tale-like walled town of Meersburg, sits just across the street from another of our favorite small inns, the Gasthof Zum Bären. Both adorable hotels are similar in ambiance, with dining rooms filled with charm and guestrooms that are simple, but very comfortable. The Hotel Löwen’s appeal is immediate: you can’t help being captivated by the wisteria-laden, deep-salmon-colored façade, green shutters, and steep gabled roof. You step inside to an attractive foyer where the gracious receptionist will probably be at the desk to greet you. The hotelier, Sigfrid Fischer, is also exceptionally friendly, and although he speaks little English, his warmth of welcome crosses all language barriers. The romantic dining room with its low, beamed ceiling and cozy tables set with fresh flowers serves marvelous food, including many fresh fish specialties from adjacent Lake Constance. The modern guestrooms are simple, but very nice. Ask for one of the recently renovated bedrooms—these are especially attractive. The hotel also has apartments available off-site. Although in the pedestrian area, the hotel will give you an entry permit for the nearby public parking garage.
