Karen's Review Of This Property:
Michael Gilowsky is especially proud that the Gasthof Zum Bären, a picture-perfect 15th-century inn has been in his family for five generations. The hotel is in the heart of Meersburg, an absolutely stunning little medieval town hugging the shore of Lake Constance. Upstairs, a treasure chest of bedrooms awaits: our room had a beautifully carved wooden ceiling, country-pine furniture, dainty print wallpaper, and lace curtains. Some rooms have old painted furniture and all have antique touches and pretty wallpapers. Every bedroom is equipped with telephone and color television as well as a snug shower or bathroom. Downstairs, the two cozy dining rooms are decorated with pewter plates and typical blue stoneware filling shelves above carved wooden furniture, fresh flowers, and comfy window benches with pretty print pillows. A wood parquet floor, low, beamed ceiling, and white tiled stove add to the pervading feeling of gemütlichkeit. Both dining rooms contain only large tables for six to eight persons, which encourages guests to share a table and good conversation. The gasthof has its own parking garage nearby.
