Hinterzarten is a small Black Forest resort famous for its healthy air where people come for family holidays with long country walks or cross-country skiing. Set beside the village green you find the Hotel Sassenhof. If your arrival is in the early afternoon, you will most likely find the Lück family supervising the presentation of each of the guestrooms, striving to achieve the atmosphere of a private home with very personalized service. Richly polished woods and antiques adorn the public rooms and artistic flower arrangements prepared by Frau Lück add splashes of color. Everything is spic-and-span and well cared for. From the attractive dining room, where breakfast and supper are served, you can see the mountains of Hinterzarten. You can help yourself to drinks in the kitchen bar (which is always open) and enjoy the nostalgic tea hour each day. Each room is thoughtfully provided with dishes and freshly pressed linen napkins. The halls that lead to the bedrooms are warmed by soft lighting, handsome prints, red carpet covered in Oriental throw rugs, and heavy wooden doors and doorways. Each room is individual in its decor but all are tastefully decorated. For relaxation, there is an indoor swimming pool, sauna, and whirlpool.
