Karen's Review Of This Property:
Badenweiler is an old spa town where the architecture is predominantly heavy Victorian and the clientele come for the curative powers of the water. Set in a quaint older section of town, the Sonne is the oldest guesthouse in Badenweiler and is ably run by the Esposito family. Vittorio hails from Italy and, although he speaks no English, his warm Italian welcome crosses all language barriers. Son Michael is happy to help with translating. The focus of the antique-filled living room is an old blue-and-white-tile stove with an inviting bench on which you can snuggle up and enjoy its warmth. Many guests stay for a week or longer so there is a large dining room for pension guests and two cozy restaurants for shorter-stay guests. Bedrooms come in all shapes and sizes and are found in the main building, a modern annex in the garden, and an old house across the street. If you are traveling with family, there are several apartments available with bedrooms and separate living rooms. The southern reaches of the Black Forest are around you—spectacular walks and drives abound.
