Karen's Review Of This Property:
Hôtel Mont-Blanc is in the heart of Megève’s pedestrian zone, facing onto the square in front of the church. The exterior looks similar to many chalet-style hotels but once you are inside, enchantment begins. The decor blends the ambiance of an elegant chalet with that of a private English club. You enter into a cozy lounge with polished wood floors and ceiling and walls completely paneled in gorgeous antique pine. The focal point of the room is a large fireplace with bookshelves on either side, flanked by comfortable sofas. The color scheme is where the “clubby” look comes in: rich “racing-green” drapes are tied back with crimson sashes, the chairs are slip-covered in greens and reds, and the handsome wing-back chairs are done in green-and-red plaid. Antiques abound—a beautiful writing desk, handsome oil paintings, beautiful chests of drawers, grandfather clocks, to name only a few. In the breakfast room the mood changes from slightly formal to definitely country-cozy, with wooden carved chairs and Provençal-print fabrics. The guestrooms continue the charming rustic ambiance. Each has its own personality, but all are similar in style with an abundant use of pretty country-print fabrics and lots of mellow woods.
