Karen's Review Of This Property:
We simply could not resist stopping at Les Chalets de la Serraz, drawn by the hotel’s stunning setting and its incredible display of flowers. A path, bordered on both sides by an amazing riot of colorful flowers, leads down a gentle slope to the hotel which is built like a large chalet with the ubiquitous pots of geraniums draping every window and balcony. From the hotel, the slope continues downward to a lovely glacier stream that runs through the valley. Although fully reconstructed, the building dates back to 1830, when it was an old farm. Today the heritage of the hotel is carefully maintained with a sophisticated, yet rustic, elegance within. Everything is fresh and pretty, and totally pleasing in every detail. The decor is most attractive, with lots of wood used throughout, beamed ceilings, polished floors, country-style antiques, pretty fabrics, and many accents such as cow bells and bouquets of fresh flowers. The dining room is especially attractive, with windows opening to the lovely valley and mountain view. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy the same view from a large terrace. There is a large swimming pool on a terrace below the hotel and a wonderful spa and sauna for relaxing after a day of excercise. For families or friends traveling together, there are individual wooden chalets tucked in the garden, which are just as cute as can be.
