Karen's Review Of This Property:
Vence is a quaint little town of narrow streets, intriguing passageways, and tempting craft and specialty shops. Look for the largest tree in Vence and there you will find L’Auberge des Seigneurs. This is a delightful inn, located on a quiet side street at the center of Vence. The inn is charming in its decor and country ambiance—heavy old beams are exposed in the ceilings and walls are whitewashed. Copper plates, pans, and bed warmers adorn the walls, Provençal fabrics cover the tables, and lovely antiques decorate every nook and cranny. Wooden doors, rich in their patina, a large stone fireplace, and striking flower arrangements complete a scene in the restaurant and salon that is intimate and cozy. In the evenings the restaurant comes alive, mellow with the soft flicker of candlelight. Diners talk in hushed conversation at clustered tables and Madame Rodi orchestrates excellent and gracious service, tossing salads tableside, pouring wine, and tending chickens grilled on the open fire. Up a creaking stairway are ten delightful, small rooms. These inexpensive bedrooms, comfortable and simply decorated with pretty country prints, are a true bargain.
