Karen's Review Of This Property:
If you want a unique experience in Provence, the upscale La Maison du Paradou is for you. Andrea and Nick Morris transformed this 17th-century postal station into an absolute jewel. As soon as you enter the big blue gate, you’re in a hamlet of peace, facing a beautiful fountain, the outside eating area, and a gorgeous pool surrounded by cypress trees. Inside, the captivating main room has been perfectly preserved with original architectural details and soaring ceilings. Andrea loves vibrant colors and that is clear by the richly decorated guestrooms. “La Violette,” my favorite, on the first floor, is swathed in greens and purples, with a beamed ceiling and spacious bathroom that includes a bathtub and separate shower. The second floor houses three more guestrooms, all named after a different color. Each room has its own individual blend of antique and contemporary furniture, as well as original paintings from the Morris’s collection. You’ll find all the amenities of a fine small hotel (a/c, plasma screen, DVD, fine linens) as well as the precise care of Andrea’s details. If you desire more privacy, ask for the “secret garden” room, near the pool. In the mornings, enjoy a bountiful breakfast served outside. And by the way, your hosts love to cook—they hold a dinner party once a week!
