Karen's Review Of This Property:
With the River Rhône running through it, Arles is a beautiful city, rich with Roman and medieval monuments. Just 50 kilometers from the sea, Arles has long guarded a strategic location. It is also convenient to all of Provence and an ideal base for exploring the region. The Hôtel d’Arlatan is tucked away on a small street in the center of town near the Place du Forum, within easy walking distance of all the city’s major sights. In the 12th, 15th, and 17th centuries the Hôtel d’Arlatan belonged to the Counts of Arlatan de Beaumont and served as their private home. It is now the pride of Monsieur and Madame Yves Desjardin who offer an ideal retreat with charming accommodation and service. This is a quaint hotel, ornamented with antiques and pretty fabrics. Many of the bedrooms look onto a quiet inner courtyard or garden or across the tiled rooftops of Arles. No two guestrooms are alike, each with its own special charm, perhaps a sheltered patio, a lovely old fireplace, a private deck; each unique trait making a selection all the more difficult. Although there is no restaurant, a delightful breakfast can be enjoyed on the patio or in the inviting salon with a portion of its floor covered by glass to expose the excavated aqueduct.
