Karen's Review Of This Property:

There is an enchantment about this beautiful castle high above Mercuès and the Lot Valley. Once you have seen it, you will not be able to take your eyes away or to drive through the valley without stopping—it appears to beckon you. Here you can live like royalty with all the modern conveniences. The château has been restored and decorated in keeping with formal tradition. Accommodation is dramatic and memorable: the 30 guestrooms are magnificent—the furnishings are handsome and the windows open to some splendid river and valley views. Unique and priced accordingly, room 19 (in a turret) has windows on all sides and a glassed-in ceiling that opens up to the beams. Enjoy a marvelous dinner in the elegantly beautiful restaurant. Service is attentive and extremely professional and the setting is truly regal. The Vigouroux family owns vineyards which produce sumptuous wines bottled under the Château de Haute Serre and Château de Mercuès label and they have built some large cellars under the gardens with a connecting underground passage to the château to store their produced and acquired wines.
