Karen's Review Of This Property:
Philippe and Andonis have settled in a little world of paradise and generously share it with guests. Their lovely hotel is situated at the top of a hill, by a little church (worth a visit to see its gorgeous ceilings), next to the château of Cuq Toulza. As the name implies, it terraces down the hillside so that each level enjoys gorgeous views of the surrounding countryside—a setting reminiscent of Tuscany. The inn is small and intimate, with just seven bedrooms, six in the main house, all air-conditioned, tastefully and beautifully decorated, with shuttered windows peeking out through thick stone walls and bathrooms that effectively and efficiently maximize the available space. I adored our top-floor corner room, Le Chat Bleu, which afforded a wonderful view of countryside looking from the bed out through the half windows and was decorated with a beautiful antique chest and side table. I also loved the White Room, fresh and pretty with white linens and lovely pine furnishings, set under old exposed beams. A duplex unit with a living room on the first level and an almost “bird’s nest” bedroom on the second level is located next to the pool. Do dine here—our meal was truly outstanding and the setting, as the sun sank and the moon rose, glorious. The Cuq en Terrasses is magic.
