Karen's Review Of This Property:

Centuries removed from its original function-this was once a water mill—and the source of its past is responsible for much of its unique charm as an inn: weathered beams, thick stone walls, intimate rooms, and a water setting. Nestled on the river bank, the property stretches along the water’s edge, from lovely shaded pool to the inn and restaurant. It was a holiday weekend and I arrived too late to view the private rooms. However, if the public rooms are any indication of the charm and comfort offered here, Le Moulin de CambeLong is definitely the region’s “choice” place to stay. Entered from a path bordering the river, a stairway leads up to a large, open area cozy under the old beams. Furnishings are clustered on tile floors dressed with oriental carpets, creating intimate areas. One can settle in front of the fireplace or at a trestle table with an attractive backdrop of pretty wallpapers and a handsome, old grandfather clock, while looking out windows framing the river below and surrounding pastures. Step down from here to the dining room, an inviting room whose elegantly set tables are paired with tall, fabric-covered chairs and floor-to-ceiling windows, draped in attractive fabrics, overlook the pool, garden, and river. The ambiance alone would warrant a stay; but so would the menu. Having earned a Michelin one-star, Hervé’s mastery is acclaimed and dining here is incredible.
