Karen's Review Of This Property:

Nestled in the valley just below the fortress of Carcassonne, Domaine d’Auriac offers proximity to the town and yet a tranquil setting away from its crowds. Marie Helen, who greeted us at reception, not only takes pleasure in the details of ensuring guests’ comfort but also, during the off season, makes the drapes and comforters for the rooms that are being redecorated. Marie Helen’s brother helps her manage the property, and her mother, Anne Marie, takes care of the family home. This is truly a hands-on family operation! In addition to the luxurious accommodation offered in the main building, the family has renovated a number of cottages, buildings that were once the bakery, the granary, and the stables, and created almost a little village of additional accommodation. The new units are spacious and often have a loft, separate sitting area, or separate unit. In the main house the elegant public rooms are inviting and the gentlemen’s cigar room is club-like in ambiance with intimate groupings of tapestry-covered chairs set on old tiled floors. Settle here for more than just a few days in order to enjoy the sightseeing and the property itself with its tennis, swimming, golf, wonderful food, and very relaxing setting.
