Karen's Review Of This Property:
Le Manoir du Butin is nestled against the forest just off the road on the left as you leave Honfleur in the direction of Deauville. It is a lovely, small, intimate home of three stories with stone detailing the exterior of the first floor and gray-blue timbers dramatically etching the top two. Views are across the lawn and west to ocean and sand unmarred by the towering chimney and factory stacks near Honfleur. Beautiful tiles warm the entry and to the right curtains open onto a gorgeous salon warmed by a large open fireplace. Tables in the dining room are dressed with soft yellows and are arranged to maximize the enjoyment of the view across the expanse of lawn to the sea. There are nine guestrooms in the house but since it was a holiday when I visited, I saw just a sampling of them—two of the small suites. On the second floor at the front of the house, room 7 offers a queen bed set opposite the view and chairs placed in front of the French doors and balcony. In a decor of creams, this room was very appealing and restful and the marble bathroom with tub and shower spoke of luxury. On the first floor the larger room 2, in creams and reds, enjoys the same orientation out to the sea but has no balcony. Breakfast is served either in the dining room or in the privacy of your room.
