Karen's Review Of This Property:

The 17th-century Château d’Etoges is built on an island surrounded first by an expanse of water and then an expanse of green lawns and fountains of natural water sprays. An arched bridge crosses over to its dramatic courtyard banded on one side by an impressive arched corridor. Inside, the ambiance is inviting and comfortable. This château was used as a home for many years before being converted to a hotel. Continuously making improvements and changes, there are now an additional nine rooms for guests to enjoy. The range of guestrooms is dramatic and the decor in some is a bit whimsical, so inquire about available accommodation to ensure a room to your liking. I loved the smallest rooms in the house, Arcades #1 and #2: compact and charming, with windows that look out to the side greenery and moat. La Tour has a large blue and cream bathroom and a bedroom in the turret with the bed set back in an alcove. Recently converted to the restaurant, L’Orangerie makes for memorable place to dine. Breakfast can be enjoyed in the main château’s lovely salon with its big open fire, bathed in the soft morning light that streams in from the large windows. Boats and bikes are available to guests.
