Karen's Review Of This Property:
If you are looking for reasonably priced accommodations in a stunning setting, with charming ambiance, absolute tranquility, and great food, look no further than the romantic 16th-century mill, Le Moulin Fleuri. For a budget hotel, it is a real treasure. Strategically positioned for exploring the châteaux of the Loire, this charming old mill snuggles right at the edge of the River Indre, with its terrace (where breakfast and drinks are served in warm weather) extending to the very edge of the water. The scene is one of idyllic bliss with the green river running by, beautiful trees draped over the embankment, colorful flowers, and a picture-perfect stone bridge arched over the river. Le Moulin Fleuri is most famous as a restaurant. The dining room is very inviting, with a low, beamed ceiling, tables beautifully set with fine linens, watercolors on the walls, and at the end of the room a window that looks like a painting as it captures the lovely scene of the river. However, there are also nine simple, moderately sized bedrooms, six of which look out over the river. They are not luxurious, but most pleasant, with windows draped in pretty floral fabric and very good bathrooms (no bathtubs)—and everything is spotless! Another bonus of Le Moulin Fleuri is that it is a family operation, ensuring personal attention.
