Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Hôtel de la Plage is quite different in ambiance from what one generally expects of a Relais & Châteaux hotel. Instead of being a formal, super-sophisticated, grand hotel, it appears to be more like an old-fashioned, friendly, low-key resort—the kind of place that families return to year after year. Since it opened its doors in the 1920s, it has been a favorite destination for many vacationers. The style of the hotel blends in perfectly with the houses seen along this part of the Brittany coast—a white building with a dark-gray roof punctuated by dormer windows. Inside, the furnishings are mostly contemporary in feel in the public rooms with leather chairs and sofas and walls adorned with nautical prints. The restaurant is renowned for its excellent regional cuisine prepared with the local fishermen’s catch of the day. The dining room is one of the highlights of the hotel—totally glassed-in on three sides, it has a delightful greenhouse quality. Not only is it filled with sunlight, but it also seems as if you are sitting almost right on the beach. And, speaking of beaches, the beach setting is what makes the Hôtel de la Plage so extraordinary. In front of the hotel is a huge, white beach that at low tide is awesome in its expanse. Enhancing this stunning beach are fabulous sand dunes interspersed with tall, windblown grass.
