Madame Hubert, your charming hostess at the Manoir du Stang, describes her property as not really a small hotel or inn at all, but rather a comfortable family home where we receive guests. Set behind a moat and an arched gateway with a tower, this is certainly not an ordinary house, but rather a very dramatic home that affords regal accommodations. At the front of the handsome manor there are beautifully maintained, French-style gardens, while at the back you find a small lake and extensive woods. In all, there are over 100 acres to this impressive estate. Inside, beautiful original wood paneling enhances antique furnishings, all adding to the atmosphere of a private château. The hotel offers 24 bedrooms equipped with all modern comforts and furnished with period pieces in keeping with the mood of the lovely 16th-century building. The Louis IV dining room is handsomely appointed, with tables set before a large fireplace. Waitresses adorned in costumes of the southern coast of Brittany provide service and lend an air of festivity to the meals. Although tucked into a forest setting, the hotel is just a short drive from the sea.
