Karen's Review Of This Property:

Nestled on a picturesque bend of the Dordogne, referred to as the Cingle de Trémolat, is the sleepy, tobacco-growing village of Trémolat. Tucked away on a quiet street this charming hotel opens up on one side to farmland and has a pretty back garden with a small stream. The Giraudel-Déstord family has lived in this ancient, ivy-covered farm complex for 400 years, and the tradition of welcome and excellence of service seems only to improve with time. Bernard Giraudel-Déstord represents the current generation and he is often about overseeing details in the kitchen and guest quarters. The bedrooms are located in various ivy-draped buildings about the property whose tranquil views open onto the freshness of the countryside. Each room has an individual theme for its decor and everything matches, down to the smallest detail. A favorite is decorated in large red-and-white checks on the duvets, the pillows, the curtains, and the canopy on the four-poster bed. The main restaurant is in the barn and the tables are cleverly positioned within each of the stalls. Off the cigar lounge, at back, a smaller room is very cozy for winter dining. The ambiance in either restaurant is romantic and the menu is excellent, offering a tempting selection of regional specialties.
