Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Auberge du Moulin de Labique sits on the rise of a hill overlooking a little creek that flows into a picture-perfect pond with lazily swimming ducks. Christine and Patrick Hendricx, the gracious, hard-working owners, operate the property as a farm, bed and breakfast, and table d’hôtes where Patrick is the chef. The oldest part of their beige-stone home dates back to the 15th century. The building is typical of the area except for an amazing, two-story, columned verandah stretching across the front, giving the effect of an ante-bellum mansion. No one can remember who added such a fanciful embellishment, but it is very old. One of the guestrooms is in the main house while the rest are found in the old stone hay barn above the dining room. The bedrooms are attractively decorated with pretty wallpapers, excellent country antiques, and color-coordinating fabrics—the front-facing bedroom is particularly appealing, with cheerful flower-sprigged wallpaper. In the meadow behind the house is a swimming pool.
