Karen's Review Of This Property:
In an exclusive residential area with the American Embassy as a neighbor, the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa benefits from minimal traffic as a result of the ever-present security. Four separate buildings were merged to create the ornate hotel and spa, which is a showcase of gilded furnishings, crystal chandeliers, original art, and wall and ceiling murals. Outside, an open central courtyard is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee and divine treat from the adjoining bakery. Inside, the converted U Ježíška Palace passage takes guests from one luxurious ground floor salon to the next, as well as to the intimate Aquarius Restaurant with its lavish frescoes, elegant settings, and eclectic menu offering Mediterranean specialities, traditional Czech dishes, and even sushi. For lighter fare, try the Barocco Vaneziano Café, or just enjoy a cocktail in the lushly decorated lobby bar. The stone circular staircase leads down to the cellar and the hotel’s expanse of spa and fitness facilities, where the décor, mood, and treatments are based on the owner’s experience and love of Bali. Guestrooms are categorized as deluxe or junior suites, or prestige apartments. They’re all luxuriously appointed and swathed in fabrics of royal reds, blues, and golds. Bathrooms are sleek and modern. Catering to both upscale and business travelers, as well as embassy guests, the hotel offers exceptional, refined service with a professional and personal polish.
