Built in 1926 The Buchan Hotel sits camouflaged in the heart of an established residential West End neighborhood lined with maple trees, blooming rhododendrons, and manicured gardens. Its great location is just a block from Stanley Park and Denman Street’s action, culture, and ethnic culinary restaurants, and minutes from the west end of trendy Robson Street. Visitors wanting a tranquil hideaway in the bustling city will prefer this property. Claiming to be one of Vancouver’s first hotels to go smokeless, The Buchan’s friendly staff will arranged tours, and securely store rental bicycles (from shops along Denman) for riding the Park seawall. Throughout the hotel, historical Vancouver prints are displayed. There is a guest lounge with complimentary coffee, laundry facilities, vending machines, and an airport shuttle, which you need to pick up on Denman Street. Why? Because parking is either resident permitted or limited to two hours. A car is unnecessary in downtown Vancouver. So if you just want a bed to sleep in at a very reasonable price in a convenient location, The Buchan is for you. Next to the hotel is Parkside Restaurant, offering an intimate setting with the option of dining in its lush garden terrace. Considered one of Vancouver’s top eateries, it features a $65 three-course French-flair West Coast prix fixe dinner. Located in the West End.
