Karen's Review Of This Property:
This 1908 sixty-three room heritage hotel is in the heart of all the action in the Arts and Entertainment area on Granville Street. Unlike some of our other recommended hotels, the Moda boasts a recent total renovation, one that might be considered artsy. Its contemporary design blends with old-style architecture making it appear urban chic. Red and chocolate brown rooms offer a tailored look with the comforts of luxurious beds, linens and furnishings and the latest technology: flat screen televisions, high-speed internet access, data port laptop outlets and a voice-over VOIP telephone system. Original terrazzo mosaic floors in the lobby and bathrooms, the hardwood flooring, dramatic crown silver moldings of the original lobby ceiling and its corner cornices retain the feeling of the century old building. Depending on your direction, you are minutes away from either Robson Street shopping or the upscale renovated warehouse district converted into the new urban neighborhood of Yaletown, and its slew of fine restaurants. Adjacent to the hotel is a cosmopolitan Italian-like enoteca, Uva Wine Bar, a new hot spot for wine and spirit connoisseurs. Uva serves the delectable charcuterie and artisan cheeses. The Moda is child and dog-friendly. Cribs are offered at no additional charge, and kids up to twelve stay free. A senior rate is available. Like most of downtown Vancouver, this area is being gentrified. Located Downtown, Granville Street.
