The Romantik Hotel Zell am See is located in the center of Zell am See, just a few steps from the pedestrian zone. If you are looking for a friendly, family-run hotel that exudes genuine warmth and charm without sacrificing the amenities of a sophisticated resort hotel, this one is a winner. The gracious Hörl family has owned the hotel for five generations. The oldest part of the hotel, which faces onto the street, looks like a typical Tyrolean chalet. It has a pretty façade of white stucco on the lower section of the building and with darkened wood above. Green shutters and window boxes overflowing with bright red geraniums further enhance the appeal. Over the years, the hotel has extended far beyond its modest origins, but its heritage is lovingly maintained in all of the furnishings, fabrics, and details of décor. The additions that have been made are without exception of excellent quality and reflect an air of refined good taste. The latest enhancement is a splendid new spa that has an indoor heated swimming pool that stretches outside into the garden. Like the public lounges and restaurant, the guestrooms are delightful. There are two styles; both extremely attractive. Those in the newer wings have balconies and are very lovely with light pine carved furnishings accented by pretty fabrics. The charming guestrooms in the original part of the house, do not have balconies, but reflect their heritage with wonderful antique furniture.
