Karen's Review Of This Property:

A small hotel more than 400 years old, the Romantik Hotel Florhof is located on the north side of the River Limmat on a quiet street that twists up from the little squares and alleys of old Zürich. Providing a tranquil oasis from the bustle of activity, but close enough for you to walk to all major attractions such as the art museum and the university, the Florhof is more like a residence than a hotel. Having been totally refurbished in 2000, it is elegant, yet comfortable and in keeping with the style of this lovely old patrician home. The outside is painted a pretty gray-blue, and there is an intimate patio at the rear—perfect for summer dining. The entry is warmed by richly paneled walls, dramatic flower arrangements, and a marvelous old blue-and-white rococo tile stove. Just off the lobby is a cozy dining room where you can enjoy delicious, market-fresh cuisine. Beautiful guestrooms are all elegantly similar, decorated in either a blue, red, or green color scheme mixed with rich creams, and have handsome antiques. Perhaps the greatest asset of the Florhof is the graciousness of its enthusiastic hosts, Brigitte and Beat Schiesser. Having traveled extensively, they have now chosen to settle in Zürich and make this charming inn their home.
