Karen's Review Of This Property:

A cascade of colorful flowers adorns every inch of the balconies of the Hotel Julen at the height of summer—a lovely sight. This hotel, owned and managed by Daniela and Paul Julen, is well located, just across the bridge and river from the heart of Zermatt. Inside, the decor is surprisingly modern with bold designs and strong colors. Just off the entry, stools around the new bar as well as leather sofas in front of the cozy fireplace attract many guests—the ambiance is one of relaxation and friendliness. Settle on the patio and watch the changing moods of the Matterhorn, enjoy a salad-bar lunch or an à-la-carte dinner in the dining room. Another option is a traditional, romantic meal in the Schäferstube “lamb room”, a romantic, old-world dining room. Bedrooms vary in size from elegant suites to more standard twin-bedded rooms. Paneled in 100-year-old spruce wood and furnished with traditional light-pine furniture, each guestroom has green silk drapes and contrasting striped carpets. The three choice rooms (107, 108, and 109) all open onto an expanse of balcony and unobstructed views of the Matterhorn. The fitness center offers everything that you expect to find at a luxurious resort, including a swimming pool with water jets, an incredible weight room, and a sauna.
