Hotel Beau Rivage

Karen's Review Of This Property:
Dorly and Urs-Peter Geering are excellent hoteliers, shining lights of Switzerland’s most highly regarded profession. The Beau Rivage on the shore of Lake Lucerne is their home, so one of them is always on hand and the warmth they offer guests is echoed by the entire staff from the porter to the maitre d’hotel. To be certain that guests have the opportunity to see everything in the area, the Geerings have arranged for a member of the local tourist office to come several times a week to discuss where to go and what to see. Of course, you must take the ferry to Lucerne and the gondola up to Rigi! However, with the Beau Rivage’s unsurpassed lakeside location, it is tempting to while away the hours soaking in the view of the boat activity on the mountain-backed lake, taking dips in the pool, and lunching on the shaded patio. Naturally, you should request a bedroom with a lake view—some have large terraces, others snug balconies. However, you get the best value for money in the spacious rooms under the eaves (no balcony or terrace).
