Karen's Review Of This Property:

“Palace” denotes luxury, and this lovely old lady lives up to her name. The 1919 hotel, with a prime location in the heart of Barcelona near the popular Las Ramblas, continues to undergo extensive remodeling that should be completed  by June 2009. The lovely rooms have a delightful ambiance with 4 meter high ceilings. The bedrooms are immense by modern hotel standards and furnished handsomely in old-world style. Salvador Dali’s favorite room, and ours, is number 110 with a sunken Roman bath and its bed tucked into an alcove. The renovation of the Palace Hotel’s public rooms is masterful; the resulting lobby, central hall, lounges, and excellent restaurants are elegant without being intimidating. Gleaming marble floors, shiny, solid brass fixtures, stunning crystal chandeliers, gilded mirrors, bathtubs you sink into, subdued piano music, finest quality linens, turn-down service at night—this all adds up to nostalgic, old-fashioned luxury and refined grace. The service is nothing short of perfection, and the English-speaking concierges go out of their way to anticipate your needs—a real asset in this city with so much to offer. You will feel pampered at the Palace and that is a feeling hard to come by in large city hotels these days.
