Las Casas de la Judería:
Found on one of Seville’s narrowest streets, Las Casas de la Judería occupies the quietest of locations at the heart of Santa Cruz, the city’s Jewish Quarter. The hotel comprises several mellow ochre-colored townhouses and a palace that in the 16th century was the home of the Duke of Béjar, Cervantes’s patron and a member of one of the most famous Spanish aristocratic families. Now you can live like the dukes of old with all the modern conveniences of air conditioning, satellite TV, phone, and mini-bar, for the hotel has been completely renovated to ooze historic atmosphere while providing all the conveniences of the 21st century. There’s even an underground car park. Because the hotel’s bedrooms are spread among several buildings (some of them are connected by underground passages) you have the feeling that you are staying in a small hotel. Bedrooms come in all shapes and the larger ones can accommodate a rollaway bed.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The concept of the hotel is good. The rooms we had (two) were most disappointing, and horribly expensive, even for Holy Week. My first room was so small, I couldn’t get around the bed. I was moved into a slightly larger room. I was most disappointed in the rugs being old and dirty, the draperies were falling apart, it hadn’t been painted for some time. The bathroom was okay but need upgrading. Staff were nice and helpful. Breakfast was quite nice...
