Hotel Casa Imperial Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Casa Imperial was built in 1560 as the home of the steward of the adjacent Casa Pilatos, a stunning palace built for the Marqués of Tarifa—to which it is joined by an underground passage, and also served as a guesthouse for visiting dignitaries. Carmen Caballero and Jochen Knie purchased the mansion in the 1990s and undertook a two-year program of sensitive restoration, preserving all the lovely tilework and historic architectural features of this beautiful old home, which now offers five-star accommodation in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Some of the guestrooms have separate sitting room, bedroom, rooftop balcony or private patio. Because it was easier to obtain planning permission for self-catering, some sitting rooms have non-functioning kitchenettes, which serve as spacious in-room bars. Bathrooms have a Moorish flair, with rough-hewn hand-painted tubs and plaster walls decorated with delicate stenciling. Breakfast is served either in the old salon or in one of the Andalusian courtyards. The restaurant serves a selection of European and typical Andalusian dishes and provides 24-hour room service. The Hotel Casa Imperial sits directly behind the Casa Pilatos in the heart of the old city. The hotel will gladly send you a map outlining the route to its door. There are parking spaces outside the hotel or your car can be taken to a nearby private car park.
