Karen's Review Of This Property:
In this delightful boutique hotel, each of the guestrooms are so truly different in look and feel, it's best to let Myra Plant and her attentive staff recommend the right one for you. While every modern convenience imaginable awaits you in this shingled, Queen Anne/Craftsman home, the presentation is old-world European all the way. As in European hotels, space can sometimes be a bit cramped in places; but the overall effect is one of such character and charm, you shouldn't miss the experience. Some rooms are simple and soothing with dormer windows, gabled ceilings, and claw-foot tubs; while others are bright and cheerful, or stately and tailored with paisley wallpaper even in the bathroom. Still others are wildly dramatic, with music piped in and gas fireplaces. You must see the sumptuous Rachel, for example, where great, rich bursts of floral patterns are boldly and fantastically coordinated—a sort of Laura Ashley meets William Randolph Hearst that works completely! Tea, coffee, and cookies are available. The Dining Room serves 2–5 course dinners, including wine, Wednesday to Saturday. Campbell House leaves a lasting impression long after you've pulled away, not only for the marvelously unusual rooms and lovely grounds, but for the professional and genuine service.
