Fru Haugans Hotel

Dating back more than 200 years, Fru Haugans is the oldest hotel in Northern Norway. In 1794 a farmer's son and captain obtained royal consent to run a guesthouse and to engage in commerce. Mrs Ellen Haugan bought the hotel in 1885 and it has remained in the family ever since. The old, congenial lounges and buildings are permeated with a special atmosphere.

The hotel is situated in the famous old street of Sjøgata in the town centre of Mosjøen, and has been enlarged and modernized over the years. Now, after extensive restoration and conversion, the completed hotel offers accommodation in 76 rooms, a large conference centre, new restaurants, lobby, bar, lift and parking area.

For keen anglers there is salmon and trout fishing in the Vefsna river bordering the beautiful, spacious grounds.
