Dr. Holms Hotel

Dr. Holms Hotel is one of the most traditional hotels in Norway, and has been a source of recreation and leisure since the start of the 18th century. The hotel has a wonderful location in the centre of the mountain village of Geilo, at the gateway to North Europe’s largest high mountain plateau – Hardangervidda. The surrounding area provides a world of activities and adventure, providing inspiration and energy – both summer and winter. It is the indefinable atmosphere, the soul of the place, which has won such a special position for Dr. Holms among the country’s most famous hotels, in addition to its caring and personal staff.

Dr. Holms Hotel opened in 1909 and is now well-known as a high-quality hotel with 127 rooms, a beautiful restaurant and high-class cuisine, a comfy bar where you can meet for a chat both before and after dinner, and the location for the legendary after-ski, which started so many years ago. We also have a lounge where we hold dances, a cosy library, a wine cellar for wine tasting, a pub and a banquet and conference section.

1000 m2 dedicated to spa and leisure: Dr Holms SPA is the only Shiseido SPA in Scandinavia and features 2 swimming pools, jacuzzi, gym, Turkish steam bath and sauna. In the autumn of 2006, the hotel opened its new “Bowl & Dine” – an American-inspired diner in 50’s style with 6 modern bowling alleys, the “Brasserie” French-inspired restaurant where you can enjoy both formal and informal meals, and a “Café Lobby” in the reception area.
