Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Inn at the Round Barn Farm, sitting in 245 lovely acres of mountains, meadows and ponds, promises romance, relaxation, and an escape from reality. On the day of my visit the first welcoming touch I encountered was a tureen of hot soup for returning skiers in the small but cozy library. The dining room, where you savor Anne Marie’s wonderful breakfasts, has windows on both sides looking out to the surrounding hills and tables set in various sizes. The guestrooms are all very different from one another in their decor but all have private bathrooms, original pine floors, rich wallpapers, and plush robes. I stayed in the Abbott Room, a suite with a king four-poster with a TempurPedic mattress, a TV hidden in an armoire, a living room with a gas fireplace, an oversized two-person corner whirlpool tub, and separate bathroom steam shower and two-person vanity. Hand-hewn beams and plenty of windows complete the scene. An unusual amenity here is the 60-foot lap pool, which extends into a greenhouse filled with flowering plants. The inn has its own groomed, marked snowshoe center and downhill skiing is just minutes away. The inn’s Round Barn hosts weddings, conferences, concerts, an opera festival and art exhibits.
