The Governor’s Inn

The Governor’s Inn was built in 1890 as the private residence of Vermont Governor William Stickney in Ludlow’s village. This lovely late Victorian country home has been converted to an inn with exceptional attention to detail by your hosts, Jim and Cathy Kubec, who pamper their guests and provide genuine hospitality. The inn welcomes guests into eight tastefully decorated and furnished guestrooms, all with a private bath and most with a gas fireplace. One of my favorites, Jessica’s Room, has a king bed, gas fireplace, cable TV, two-person water massage tub, large skylight, and views of the village and mountains. The common rooms offer guests a chance to sit and chat within the inn’s architectural and interior period details or relax near the slate fireplace in the parlor. Food is the focus of much attention at the inn. In addition to a full breakfast on antique china in the morning, tea with sweets in the afternoon, and a fixed-price gourmet dinner available for groups of six or more; upon request Cathy will prepare a “Vermont Country Picnic” which includes a bountiful gourmet lunch with picnic basket and accessories. The inn is located near the village green, less than a mile from the Okemo Mountain.
