Inn at Thorn Hill and Spa

The design concepts of Stanford White have inspired Jim and Ibby Cooper in their rebuilding of the Inn at Thorn Hill after a disastrous fire destroyed all of it in late 2002. They have taken the opportunity to maintain the essence and character of this marvelous inn while adding the facilities most desired by guests today. The inn has been enlarged to 25 rooms, including four suites. Each room has a gas fireplace, private bath, wireless internet access, TV/DVD, and spa tubs for two. Some rooms have steam showers or showers for two; some have views of the mountains with their ever-changing patterns of sun and shadow. The inn’s award-winning dining room now offers fine dining in an enlarged room with French doors leading to a wraparound porch, a private dining room seating 20, a downstairs dining room for 40, and a lounge serving more casual meals. The lounge has been configured in a new turret-like space, which also creates a uniquely designed area on the second floor. An elevator has been installed, permitting handicap access to bedrooms on the second and third floors. The inn still has three cottages and a carriage house for guests, all decorated in French country style. Attractive packages for spa, golfing, skiing, and other outdoor activities are offered.
