Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Old Fort Inn is a beautiful 16-room inn offering elegance and tranquility. Surrounded by old estate cottages in one of Kennebunkport’s most attractive residential neighborhoods, the inn has its own swimming pool and tennis court. The spacious and luxurious air-conditioned rooms—in the main building and in the circa-1880 converted carriage house—are stylishly decorated with antiques, fine fabrics, and attractive wall coverings. All guestrooms feature canopy or four-poster beds with down comforters and private baths. Some rooms have gas fireplaces and whirlpool baths. One room I visited had a fishnet canopy over the bed and was decorated in shades of gray and beige with black accents, an attractive color palette echoed in the bedspread. The inn has a separate large living room with a fireplace, comfortable chairs, and a view out to the pool and gardens. A lavish gourmet breakfast is served daily in the Great Room. The inn, in its own private, peaceful grounds of 15 acres, is just one block from the ocean, yet only 1¼ miles from the bustle of Kennebunkport’s shops, galleries, and restaurants.
