Thomas Bond House Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:
Thomas Bond House

I would bring my kids to Philadelphia to hear national park rangers telling the stories of the founding of the United States of America, and I would stay in the wonderfully convenient Thomas Bond House, built in 1769, just steps away from the park. The Thomas Bond has ten bedrooms and two suites, each with private bath, and several rooms have more than one bed or have a sofa bed or a connecting room. The amenities of a bed and breakfast inn are all yours to enjoy—a Continental breakfast during the week and a full breakfast on the weekends; wine and cheese in the evening; freshly baked cookies and games for the kids. The Thomas Bond Room, with its lovely Chippendale furniture, has a magnificent rice-canopy four-poster bed, a fireplace, whirlpool tub with shower, and a double-size sofa bed. There’s a similar room one floor up, and then there are smaller rooms with pencil beds, wrought-iron beds, a cannonball pine bed, etc. The area around the inn consists of buildings from the same era so you really feel part of the town and the society of that earlier life.

In October of 2007, we stayed at the Thomas Bond House in Philadelphia. We found the Inn Managers to be friendly and very helpful with ideas of what we could do within walking distance of the historic district of Philadelphia. We experienced great breakfasts and especially enjoyed the nightly happy hour meeting the other guests. Staying for over a week, we were able to experience the Italian district, the Art Walk Night within the gallerias, the river walk, and ride the subways. Wonderful area to experience great restaurants and urban life.

A charming small bed and breakfast in the Old Town of Philadelphia. Perfect location with walking distance to the tourist attractions and good restaurants. The room was charming with tv and ensuite bathroom. A nice and cosy atmosphere with a lounge downstairs. The breakfast could be more healthy. Really enjoyed my stay.
