Library Hotel

The Library Hotel is one of several new boutique hotels in New York. With its library theme, this hotel is fun and different, using the Dewey decimal system to number its bedrooms. Each floor is designated for one of the system’s ten classifications and books in the bedrooms reflect the appropriate classification. Guestrooms are classified either petite or deluxe, and there are eight junior suites, one with its own terrace. Rooms come with all the amenities including access to a video library of the American Film Institute’s top 100 films. The hotel’s facilities include a reading room, a poetry garden with an absolutely delightful terrace on top of the building, and a business center with free access to high-speed internet service, a computer, and a printer. The ground-floor lobby and reception area is spacious and high-ceilinged, and graced with a grand piano. Wine and hors d’oeuvres are offered to guests on weekdays. Passes are available to a nearby fitness center. Cappuccino, coffee, tea, fruit, and cookies are available throughout the day. The Library takes staying at a hotel to a new level—as do its sister properties, Casablanca, Hotel Giraffe, and the Hotel Elysée. These properties are warm and personable, and in a world that only goes faster, they are great places to stop and enjoy.
