Casablanca Hotel

Good things always come in threes and the Casablanca Hotel is the first of three boutique hotels crafted by Henry Kallan in New York (although he is part owner of yet another). This one, just east of Broadway on 43rd Street, round the corner from Times Square and the theater district, has a Moroccan flavor, which makes it fun and different. Rooms are not large, but everything that the traveler needs is right there at the ready. Throughout the day guests may have international coffees and teas, fresh fruit, cookies, and cappuccino or espresso are always there for the asking. Each weekday evening Rick’s Café, where breakfast is served, hosts a wine and cheese reception every night except Sundays, and, as in the other Kallan properties, there’s a piano where on Friday evenings a selection of popular songs transports you to another world. There’s a great little outdoor patio where you can look up and see sky and drink in the air of New York. All the hotel services you could imagine are available here including secretarial service and a concierge.
