Karen's Review Of
Pig Hill Inn:
You find the Pig Hill Inn on Main Street in one of the most scenic little villages on the Hudson River. It is a cozy and welcoming inn. Its simple charm and stylishly furnished bedrooms provide the traveler with pleasant overnight accommodations and the ability to wander about the town, to shop in the quaint shops, to dine at some excellent restaurants, to experience the regional theater, and to enjoy a break from the everyday world. You enter the inn through a Victorian-style greenhouse conservatory where breakfast is served in the mornings; alternatively, you can eat on the terrace—unless you decide to breakfast in bed. The inn prides itself on serving breakfast in bed and this delicious experience is hard to turn down. There are nine bedrooms in the inn which all enjoy a private bathroom with claw-foot or whirlpool tub. Most guestrooms have fireplaces or wood-burning stoves. Quilts top four-poster queen and king beds. Settle into Cold Spring for a few days' escape. Completely stress-free, leave the car behind; take the train from New York (one hour) and just enjoy. In addition to endless miles of hiking trails that traverse the natural splendor of the Hudson Highlands, one can also visit nearby West Point, the Boscobel, Dia, Kyukit, Roosevelt and Vanderbilt mansions.
