Karen's Review Of This Property:

One of the distinguishing characteristics of old homes on the Eastern Shore of Maryland is the high ceilings with which most of them have been designed, keeping them cooler in the summer but also providing a grandeur of architecture. These are homes of large rooms and high style, yet ones where you can relax and be comfortable. Special to inns on Chesapeake Bay like the Great Oak Manor are the sweeping patio and lawns that slope away from the buildings toward the nearby water’s edge and chairs from which to view it all. This inn is gracious in every sense. There are 12 particularly large bedrooms with queen or king beds, sitting areas, desks or dressing tables, and private bathrooms. My favorite was on the second floor, the former master suite named Marmaduke, which is a corner room of this grand old home: its soft colors seem to promise a relaxed stay. The inn is also ready for your special occasion—business conference, family gathering, or wedding. The innkeepers in this region provide a hospitality that is truly Southern in style and expanse. Great Oak Manor has all these features and great innkeepers and invites you to become part of its life for a multi-night visit. You will enjoy every moment.
